Last week was rather boring.. didn’t go out at all since I’m always freaking tired.. and I wanted to be ready for Portugal on Friday..
we left at 8 AM on Friday and had the 6 hour bus ride to Lisbon.. which passed faster than expected. our hotel was gorgeous.. Vile Gale Opera.. and each room was named for a famous singer/performer.. I got Lenny Kravitz =) since Jeanette and her boy went on vacay for the entire week in the Canary Islands (I know.. how jealous am I?) I was in a room with another girl that I don’t know very well.. she’s sort of bizarre. The first thing she said to me when I walked in was “do you snore? cause I think I do” then “are you a late night person? cause I wear ear plugs so you can pretty much do what you want, just try to keep the lights off..” awkward much? oh well, I survived
Friday we did a 3 hour walking tour, went to the Castillo de San Jorge, an old castle in the center of town.. went down to the Docas after dinner, but it was apparently high school night and every club was filled with teenagers.. and I swear I saw chaperones… so I went home fairly early and hung out in the hotel…
Saturday morning we did a bus tour, went to the Basilica which was beautiful, went to a little tower that used to be a center of defense for the city from the river (where it was about 30 degrees with the wind.. and I was wearing a skirt with leggings of course.. silly me) then grabbed lunch in the center.. before Kelly, Dan and I walked around then headed out toward the aquarium on the metro.. we never actually went since it was 10 euros and I’ve seen plenty of fish in my lifetime.. but we walked around the 98 Expo buildings (they have random expos here in Europe..I don’t really get it), and took lots of pictures before having the best cab ride of my life back to the hotel from the metro station..
