oh Barca… May 20, 2009

So.. 3 days with the family was fun.. stressful, but nice to be with them for a while and not have to do everything for myself for once. Not like I did things for myself in Sevilla, but still.. it’s nice to not feel alone, even though I didn’t feel alone.. Oh, I don’t know what I’m saying..

Barcelona is great. But it’s definitely not Spain. It’s much more European.. in a good and bad way… I miss the Spanish feel of Sevilla without a million languages being spoken on the streets.. but it definitely feels like a big city (well.. it is) like NYC, and I’ve always wanted to live in a big city for a few months..

so, to start the drama.. my parents and I brought my stuff to my new apartment on Sunday.. and what a surprise..

my roommate Jordyn is from Chicago, and is super sweet and small and cute and we get along great. BUT, she moved into the double room that I had reserved, because it’s a bunk bed (all the other beds are lofted.. which we both hate), and it’s the biggest with sun light and very nice, while the other rooms are like caves.. and the coordinator that met us at the apartment didn’t kick her out.. so last night we had a big argument over me having to spend 2 nights in the lofted bed, still living out of suitcases in the middle of the living room, since Jordyn’s room (which she’s forcing me to live in) doesn’t have a closet. Stupid stupid issues. Anyway, it’s been a rough few days.. I missed my family alot after they left and got a little hysterical the night before they left… it’s hard having them here then gone again..

Anyway, I’m working for a company called barcelona-home.com (look it up. it’s sweet)… doing all sorts of stuff.. like writing a bunch of blogs, translating, correcting things non-English speakers (or really bad speakers) wrote in English.. and a variety of other things..

My coworkers speak 15 different languages and are from all over the world: Peru, France, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Finland.. and a bunch more. They’re alot of fun but sometimes it’s hard to communicate, and I wish everyone spoke Spanish all the time so my mind could focus on one language instead of 15.. but that’s about all for now..

The handyman is here fixing our leaking freezer, our washer with a hole behind it (recently discovered after water came pouring out everywhere) and moving a closet into Jordyn’s REAL room, so I can have my own tonight. Thank the Lord. cross your fingers it all goes well and she moves out without any hassle

i miss you all like woah… <3
